Walking Together - Our Commitment to Reconciliation

At KASPRE Consulting, reconciliation is a priority, responsibility and commitment. As an Indigenous-owned consulting firm, we understand that reconciliation is a living, ongoing journey grounded in truth, respect, and relationships.

A Message from the Owner:

As a citizen of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, I have been on a personal journey most of my adult life to learn my heritage, my language, and my responsibilities to support reconciliation. At KASPRE Consulting, we walk in two worlds seeing our role as both bridge and guide, modelling respectful engagement and embedding the spirit and intent of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action into our work.

Our Guiding Values

  • Respect – Honouring Indigenous rights, voices, and histories in every engagement.
  • Reciprocity – Building relationships that are mutually beneficial and grounded in trust.
  • Responsibility – Acting with accountability to our communities, clients, and future generations.
  • Truth – Acknowledging the full history of Canada and its impacts on Indigenous peoples.
  • Collaboration – Walking alongside partners in shared learning and action.
  • Adaptability – Keeping our commitments current and responsive as relationships grow.

Our Commitments in Action

  • Indigenous Talent and Expertise – We actively hire Indigenous consultants, facilitators, and vendors, and incorporate Indigenous knowledge systems into our work.
  • Continuous Learning – All team members complete foundational Indigenous cultural training and take part in ongoing learning opportunities.
  • Nation-to-Nation Relationships – We engage Indigenous partners early and meaningfully in projects that affect their communities.
  • Economic Participation – We advocate for Indigenous participation in client projects and mentor Indigenous professionals.
  • Accountability – We review and update our commitments annually, publish progress updates, and invite feedback from Indigenous partners.

Why We Call This a Living Commitment

We commit to reviewing and updating these commitments as we engage and learn from our partners. Each year, we will reflect on our progress, listen to our partners, and adapt our approach. Walking together means learning together, taking responsibility together, and building a shared future where Indigenous voices and rights are honored in every space we work.

We invite you to walk with us on this path.
